Delta4 Women in Action Extends Gratitude to Secretary Marcia Fudge for Her Dedicated Service

(Mar. 13, 2024, ATLANTA) Delta4 Women in Action expresses profound gratitude to Secretary Marcia Fudge for her unwavering commitment and service to communities across the nation. Secretary Fudge’s retirement from her esteemed position as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) marks the conclusion of a remarkable tenure dedicated to advancing the well-being of all Americans.

As a former mayor, Secretary Fudge brought invaluable insight and understanding of the critical role that housing plays in communities nationwide. She recognized the diverse needs of both rural and urban areas, championing initiatives aimed at enhancing housing accessibility and affordability for everyone.

Under her leadership, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has assisted nearly 1.8 million people in purchasing a home and worked to address the racial wealth gap by outpacing the market in the percentage of FHA mortgages insured to Black and Brown borrowers.  HUD has also preserved affordable options for families through funding a record-breaking over 2 million units of public and multifamily housing, and served more than 400,000 people experiencing homelessness, directly impacting countless individuals through vital support in communities large and small.

Delta4 Women in Action applauds Secretary Fudge’s exemplary dedication, vision, and tireless efforts in addressing the housing challenges facing our nation. Her steadfast commitment to improving the lives of Americans will leave a lasting legacy, inspiring future generations to continue the pursuit of equitable and accessible housing for all.

As Secretary Fudge begins her transition, Delta4 Women in Action extends its heartfelt appreciation and wishes her continued success in her future endeavors.
